MINDFULNESS Training

Why become a Mindfulness Trainer? see attachment below
Mindfulness Yoga (MY) brings greater focus to the yoga aspect of cultivating mindfulness.
This is not simply about making our yoga practice more mindful; this is about allowing our yoga practice to change us.
Develop a sharper and clearer mind - learn to see things ordinarily missed - find the stillness in every moment - meet your goals through immersion, not striving.
Take your yoga teaching to a new level - attract new students interested in living more fully - add value to your existing teaching - become a Mindfulness Yoga Trainer and learn to deliver 8-week mindfulness programs!
MY has been developed to embrace and influence yoga training, yoga teaching and yoga therapy.

The tiers of MY on offer are as follows:

Mindfulness Yoga Training
Many of us seek the benefits that mindfulness offers – insight, clarity, wisdom, patience and wellbeing. We associate our yoga practices with these qualities and it is therefore a natural progression to approach meditation through cultivating improved awareness of every moment.
The next courses are suspended as we undertake research into Mindfulness and Yoga Teachers.

Mindfulness Yoga Teacher Retreat Level I
The MY Teaching Retreat is a six-day retreat designed to train yoga teachers in how to deliver 8-week MY programmes to their students. This initiative is modelled on the MBSR and MBCT programmes which utilise retreats as a way of immersing participants in mindfulness. On the basis of this training geared to embodying mindfulness, teachers will be eligible to deliver 8-week MY programmes in accordance with the guidelines stipulated on the course.

Who is eligible: all yoga teachers who have completed the MY Training or undertaken an 8 week MBSR or MBCT course, and who undertake regular yearly silent retreats, with an interest in integrating mindfulness into their teaching and cultivating mindfulness in their students. Others without a yoga teaching background will also be considered.

Mindfulness in Integrated Yoga Therapy
With scientific evidence mounting to show the efficacy of Mindfulness approaches, it is natural to embed these teachings more rigorously into yoga therapy. The Integrated Yoga Therapy training course offers the route through which yoga teachers undertake therapy training with specific emphasis on integrating mindfulness in their approach to working with patients. For further information on this programme, please see the current IYT course at http://www.cathymae.com/iyt

Who is eligible: yoga teachers who hold a qualification recognised by the British Council for Yoga Therapy and who have taught for two years. For those without such a qualification, please approach us to find an alternative route into the training.

Next IYT training starts September 2014 until November 2016
